Our Principles

At Siling', we believe:

Everything else on this page, and everything Siling' builds, follows from those five lines.

Why we exist

Money shouldn't be confusing. Yet millions of people still rely on memory, screenshots, spreadsheets, and scattered notifications to understand their finances. Siling' exists to turn those fragmented moments into a clear financial picture.

Why this page exists

Siling' reads your financial notifications to build your ledger. That is a significant thing to ask of anyone. Before you connect anything, you should be able to answer three questions without digging: what do you see, where does it live, and what happens if you change your mind. This page answers all three, in one place, in plain language.

What Siling' is, and isn't

Siling' is a Financial Operating System: software that reads your Financial Notifications (the SMS or app alerts your bank and mobile money provider already send you), organizes them into a ledger, and helps you plan around your cashflow cycle.

Siling' is not a bank, a lender, a payment processor, a digital wallet, an investment advisor, a financial advisor, a tax advisor, or an accounting service. Siling' never executes a financial transaction, never holds or stores your money, and never guarantees a financial outcome. Every number Siling' shows you describes money that already moved somewhere else, through your Supported Institutions; it does not move money itself.

What we read, and what we never touch

Siling' requests access to read transaction-related notifications only: messages confirming a payment, deposit, withdrawal, or transfer from a supported bank or mobile money provider. We do not read personal messages, OTP codes, chat apps, or any notification that isn't a financial transaction confirmation. The permission screen in the app shows you a real example of exactly what gets read before you decide.

How your data moves

One notification, seven steps, entirely on your device unless you choose otherwise:

Financial Notification arrives Siling' reads it Builds your Ledger Categorizes the transaction Updates your Budget Generates Insights Stored securely on your device Deleted the moment you request deletion

For the fuller version of what each stage does, see How Siling' Works.

Where your data lives

Your phone is the source of truth today. Financial Notifications are parsed and stored on your device first. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you explicitly turn on Secure Sync, and even then, the on-device copy remains the authoritative record; sync creates a replica, not a replacement. If you never enable Secure Sync, your Personal Financial Information never leaves your phone.

This principle is a commitment about how we build, not just a description of today's app. If multi-device support or web access ever changes how data is synchronized or recovered, we will update this page, and the product itself, to stay aligned with it.

AI, plainly

Siling' uses AI to answer questions you ask about your own ledger inside the app. AI Insights are generated from your own data, cite what they're based on, and are never presented as financial advice.

Categories stay under your control. Transactions are organized with rules, merchant matches, and your corrections. When you correct a category, that correction applies to your account. Your financial history is not pooled across users unless you explicitly opt into a future improvement program.

Why Secure Sync exists

Secure Sync exists for one reason: to help you restore your financial history if you change phones or lose your device. It is optional, off by default, and not yet generally available. When it launches, your device remains the primary source of truth; Secure Sync is a safety net, not a second copy of authority.

Your control

You can see, export, or delete your data at any time. Turning off notification access, disabling Secure Sync, or deleting your account are all available directly in the app; none of them require contacting support to complete.

Where Siling' stands today

Siling' is an early-stage, Android application. iOS support, and Secure Sync itself, are on the roadmap and not yet generally available; this page will be updated the moment either changes.
